Maybelline "The Falsies" -- Review
Let me preface by saying my go-to mascara has always been of the Lancome variety, with Hypnose being my all-time favorite. My lashes are long and thin, so I definitely go for volume over length. I picked up “Falsies” from the drug store after hearing some decent reviews. It was only around five bucks, so I figured if I were disappointed it isn’t the end of the world. I tend to read reviews before purchasing *any* product, but I didn’t this time. I wish I had.
This is what transpired. After a curl, one coat and brushing out my lashes this is what I get. Needless to say, I was a little disappointed. I haven’t picked up a spidery, clumpy mascara in years. It gets worse. I applied a second coat, and I had flaking at around the five minute mark.
I finally take to Makeup Alley to read a few reviews. If you actually navigate to the “Falsies” page, you’ll see lots of pictures. At least 3/4 of them have spidery, clumpy lashes just like I do.
I think this mascara may work well for people with short, thick lashes. It definitely seems to make my lashes look long. As of now, I’m still looking for the holy grail of drugstore mascaras. I definitely am looking for something that gives a lot of volume.
